Come one...come all...I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me - Philippians 4:13 February 21 Happy late Valentines Day!!! Hey everyone, How is everyone doing? I just realized I am a horrible person and keep forgetting to post on a regular basis. *sigh* I know I should be shot in front of a blogger fire brigade. Until then, how about I talk for a bit. :D Personal: Well, first of all, a happy Valentine's day is in order...and too all the others out there (like me)...Happy Singles' Awareness Day!!! Now, I do have a little question. Why must we have a special to dote on that special person? Come on now...I think it was been a little crazy...but I am just saying is all. School: This new semester is going pretty well. I picked up another Math Models class...so I have 2 upper level classes and 4 freshmen classes. Not too bad. However, I think my juniors/seniors are spoiled by me. Everyday they are wanting a story from me. I have been starting each class by talking with them, seeing what has been going on, and will tell a story (sometimes from my childhood or whatever comes to mind)..now they are expecting one every class...They are way too funny and into it. It's like having big little children. My freshmen are testing my patience...Lord help them. I have decided to try some different things with them and change up my approach to the lessons. I have been having some better success with them. I will know more after the major test. Plus, I am tired of listening to myself teach/talk...so I know they are even more so. In other news: Ok, I am going to have to go here. I am curious about Obama. Now, I know that I haven't been that keen on him (or for the other candidate for that matter). However, he has been shaking some things up a bit. His economic stimulus package is quite the leap of faith as some would say...but others think it's needed. But I do have another theory. Let's look at how this all happened, and it doesn't require looking at the government so much. The economy is in a bind because of the consumers are in a bind and are not spending money. However, why is that? It stems from people making some stupid decisions with their finances. People were financing things that were more than they could afford. The banks allowed this...and we wonder why the economy is so bad...I know we know...but I just had to get that off my chest. So, the government is having to step in to help. I am not saying it is a bad thing. The government is set up to do what is in the best interest of its' people. I am interested in hearing what everyone else thinks as well. But of course (like a good instructor) I do have some rules: No bashing/attacking/ganging up on someone else for his/her opinion posted. You can of course disagree with someone, but be respectful when voicing your opinion. It is poor form to personally attack someone for his/her opinions or thoughts. Please be courteous. This is all I ask. Can't wait to hear from you :D January 03 Happy Belated New Year!!!HELLO TO ALL MY FELLOW BLOGGERS!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I hope everyone had a good and safe new year. Mine was pretty uneventful...I was in bed by 11:30pm. Sorry to disappoint everyone, but this cutie-patutie needs his beauty rest...:D However there is always next year. As always, we tend to be very retrospective on what has happened during the past year: 1. Oh man, I so shouldn't have had those doughnuts... 2. Damn pants are shrinking... 3. What the hell am I doing... etc, etc,...etc. Well, I know what I am going to do with mine...what my plans are...what goals I'm setting...what I'm changing in my life... ... ... ... So, I was thinking of what my new theme for this year will be...my mantra...my raison d'etre...lol. I know what the hell am I doing getting so deep...hey all you assholes...I know you're thinking the same thing too...don't deny it...lol. My final decision will have to be after I am done puking my guts out, and stop pleading with the porcelein king... So stay tuned for the fascinating bullshit of the high school teacher...heehee...I am good at what I do. June 14 Good story for first year teachers...and anyone looking for new ideas Hey everyone!!! My dad called me today to tell me about a story on Dateline last night about a teacher's first year experience...which was horrible...but also how she turned it around and became successful with her students. If you know anybody who is about to start their teaching career...please let them know about the story...anything we can do to help our other profesional partners to be successful is so worth it...spread the word. June 08 SummerOk, I am now out for summer!!!!! For a teacher, that means lots, and lots of catch-up sleep and much needed rest to recharge our batteries. As I always love what I do during the school year, I also love the chance to be able to have some down-time and reflection on the past school year and look for ways to make it better for next year...

BE MORE ORGANIZED!!!!!
I was very disorganized this year...new school, new things to learn on procedures and stuff. I will be spending some time this summer getting my butt more organized for the next year...it will happen...I can accomplish this insurmountable task...(my friends are begging to differ right now...thanks guys for having my back...

I WILL SURVIVE!!!!! LOL. March 17 Spring BreakSpring break is always one of my favorite vacations. I can always slack off or travel. Well this year I chose to travel. My dad, brother and I are in Alpine/Ft Davis area in Texas right now. It's been pretty cool. The weather is very dry...I'm already sunburned...This is our second day of the trip. Already we have seen the Marfa mystery lights, Fort Davis, and the McDonald Observatory. I have lots of pictures I will be posting later.
Today, we will be going to Big Bend National Park to do some sightseeing. There are some amazing things to see (I have been there once before).
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!! March 09 Now I that am here...Well, I have survived my first semester at my high school. It's going pretty well. It's really the same ole' stuff...student-wise. They hate with prejudice homework of any kind...who ever likes homework? My poor students, I give homework every class...I'm not a crowd favorite that's for sure.
I am just happy to be settled in and everything is going well. I will write more...I know...I have been slacking so much. January 06 New Year...random thoughts and retrospectWell, it's a brand new year...a clean slate for most people. A new chance to quit old habits, to try something completely new, or start with a good habit - exercising, diets, etc. Each year poses new challenges and a reality check of broken resolutions from last year.
Well, I have come to the realization that I am:
1) A Loser with no life
2) Not getting any younger
3) Dateless
or...
4) All of the above
LOL...I know...I am ever so funny here. :D
I have finally realized I am not getting younger, PLUS my body seems to be slower and not in shape as once thought. The whole "Hercules" body is just not there...haha!! Anyways, my first order of business has been to get into shape.
Now, I'm not looking to be a bodybuilder. Let's face it...I'm just not THAT motivated for that. I'm just wanting to be able to do things without getting over-exhausted - kicking the bucket. So, I am doing simple things like push-ups, sit-ups, and running on the treadmill. I am just starting out simple...easy way to keep my goal...and to measure it will be to go on a 30-mile bike trail in Ft Worth...If I can do that without dying...I will be in shape. As this goes along, I will start to add those annoying exercises with the weights...Let's just hope no one gets hurt here.
Currently, I have started a profile on match.com...now I don't know why I even try...it's like a dying man's last effort to cheat death. I have finally bit the bullet and am trying this out as an experiment to see what happens. Who knows...can anything good come of this? Stay tuned...I won't go into my rant about online dating sites...I'm not much of a fan...but what's a guy to do when half his friends are lighting the freakin' fire to do something...
So, my resolution is simple:
STOP BEING A LOSER WITH NO LIFE....lol..I kid
1) More exercise - try to be more active
2) Actually find a date...yes, I am doing guys...:D
